Home Help & Housekeeping Support

Practical help that keeps the home running well, from shopping and laundry to meal preparation, delivered by someone who takes the time to chat.

Practical help, done properly

Household jobs can become tiring or simply unappealing as we get older or after illness. Our home help visits take care of the everyday tasks so you have more energy for the things you enjoy, and your home stays comfortable, safe and welcoming for visitors.

Around the house

  • Light cleaning, dusting and vacuuming
  • Washing, drying, ironing and changing beds
  • Tidying, decluttering and organising cupboards
  • Watering plants and light garden jobs

Food and errands

  • Planning a weekly menu and writing the shopping list
  • Supermarket or farm-shop shopping, with you or for you
  • Preparing fresh meals and batch cooking for the freezer
  • Collecting prescriptions, dry cleaning and parcels

Eating well at home

A good diet supports strength, mood and recovery. Our companions can cook favourite recipes, follow dietary preferences and make sure there is always something easy and nourishing in the fridge. The NHS has helpful guidance on eating well, and we are happy to follow any plan agreed with your GP or dietitian.

A friendly face, not just a cleaner

Unlike a cleaning service, our home help always has time for a cup of tea and a conversation. Many clients combine home help with companionship visits or outings, so one familiar person handles both.

About our service: Livingsupported provides non-regulated companionship, home help and lifestyle support. We do not provide personal care (such as help with washing, dressing, toileting or giving medication), nursing or medical care, and we are not registered with the Care Quality Commission. If personal or clinical care is needed, we will help you find a registered provider and can work alongside them.

Where we provide this service

We visit clients across South Manchester and Trafford, Cheshire and Staffordshire, including Hale, Bowdon, Altrincham, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Knutsford and Eccleshall.

Frequently asked questions

Do you provide deep cleaning?

We focus on everyday housekeeping. For deep cleans, carpets or windows we can arrange and supervise trusted local tradespeople.

Can you help with medication?

We can collect prescriptions and remind you that it is time to take your medication, but we cannot administer medication, which is a regulated activity.

Is there a minimum visit length?

Visits are usually a minimum of two hours so that there is time for the job and some company too.
