Appointment Escorting & Hospital Visits
Reliable company to and from GP, hospital, dental and optician appointments, with someone to take notes and keep the family in the loop.
No more going alone
Medical appointments can be stressful: finding parking at a large hospital, waiting in clinic, and trying to remember everything the consultant said. Our companions take care of the logistics and sit with you throughout, so you can concentrate on the conversation that matters.
How appointment escorting works
- We collect you from home in good time, with any letters, glasses and hearing aids
- We drive, or book and accompany you in a taxi, and handle parking
- We wait with you and, if you wish, join the appointment to take notes
- We collect any prescription on the way home and settle you back in
- With your consent, we send a short summary to your family the same day
We regularly accompany clients to Wythenshawe Hospital, Macclesfield District General Hospital, Royal Stoke and County Hospital, Stafford, private hospitals such as the Spire and Alexandra hospitals, and local GP surgeries and dentists.
Coming home from hospital
Returning home after a hospital stay is a time when extra help makes a big difference. We can be there when you arrive, make sure the house is warm and the fridge stocked, and visit daily for the first few weeks. If you need personal care or nursing after discharge, the hospital team will arrange this through a registered service, and our companions can work alongside them. The NHS explains what to expect when leaving hospital.
About our service: Livingsupported provides non-regulated companionship, home help and lifestyle support. We do not provide personal care (such as help with washing, dressing, toileting or giving medication), nursing or medical care, and we are not registered with the Care Quality Commission. If personal or clinical care is needed, we will help you find a registered provider and can work alongside them.
Where we provide this service
We visit clients across South Manchester and Trafford, Cheshire and Staffordshire, including Hale, Bowdon, Altrincham, Wilmslow, Alderley Edge, Prestbury, Knutsford and Eccleshall.
Frequently asked questions
Will the companion come into the appointment with me?
Only if you would like them to. Some clients prefer company in the waiting room only; others like their companion to take notes during the consultation.
Can you book appointments for me?
Yes, with your permission we can book and manage appointments, arrange transport and keep a shared calendar for your family.
Do you provide transport only?
We provide a companion who drives and stays with you, rather than a taxi service, so you are never left waiting alone.
